Our Vision for Bethany is to become a House of Prayer for all Nations.

Definition of a House of Prayer:  Prayer permeates every aspect of ministry.  It is a significant part of every ministry.  Prayer is the first response, not a last resort.  This church believes that nothing lasting will happen apart from prayer.

Praying for Our Leadership

1. Wisdom - Father, it is only through your wisdom that we can lay a strong foundation and build a house that will stand.  Grant wisdom to our leadership so that they can stand firm and not be tossed about by every wind.  James 1:2-8, Proverbs 24:3-4, Matthew 7:24-27

2. Discernment - God, give our leaders pure and understanding hearts.  May they stand in righteousness before you.  Give them the ability to give up what is good and choose what is best.  Matthew 7:15-, Philippians 1:9-11.

3. Faith and a heart that seeks after God - Faith Giver, bless our leadership with faith, so that they would not lead according to our limitations but according to your limitless power.  May they seek to expand your kingdom first.  Matthew 6:33, Hebrews 11:1,6.

4. Passion in Prayer - Father, may our leadership depend wholly on you.  May they live and breathe prayer, understanding that they are but empty vessels unless filled by you.  Matthew 7:7-12, Acts 6:4

5. Courage - Infuse our leadership with courage God.  We praise you that you never leave us alone but walk beside us and fight for us.  Psalm 24:10, Joshua 1:6-8, 1 Corinthians 16:13.

6. Listening Heart - Holy Spirit, may our leaders spend time immersing themselves in your word and listening to what you desire of us.  May they hear and recognize your voice and reject other voices that are not in tune with you.  Joshua 1:6-8, John 10:25-30.

7. Obedience - Give our leadership obedient hearts, willing to do all that you ask, seeking approval from you rather than men.  I John 5:3, Acts 5:25.

As we lift our leaders up in prayer, pray also for us as a congregation to be submissive to the authority that God has placed over us.  Let us show wisdom by being pure, peace - loving, considerate, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and sincere.  May we raise a harvest of righteousness.  Hebrews 13:17, James 3:17-18.
